Just joined your group and I need to replace my Force 40 due to reliability issues. We are normally on the lake with multitude of kids and I have lost all comfort in the "Force".
Ideally I would like to upgrade to a quieter and at least a 60 hp. My concern is, is a 60 or higher really safe. Do you have to beef up the transom? My 2002 26X has many modifications (most from the mods pages) and sits a bit lower in the water than when new, so she is heavier to push.
Yamaha appears to be the most reliable & quite. What brands would you suggest? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
