Hi to all.

Just got a '95 26X from the avalanche of used US boats being imported to Oz.

In regard to the trailer, mine seems quite OK. Looks way too light from a conventional perspective but it seems that the boat becomes part of the load-bearing structure when the weight comes on, so whilst that is a bit cheeky, it seems to work. In any event, I'm all for keeping the towing weight down as my last boat/vehicle combo was over 4 tonnes.

The question is in regard to multi-roller trailers. I checked all earlier threads and found no reference. I suspect that the hull thickness on the bottom might be a limiting factor but would like to find out for sure.

I don't like drowning the trailer and can forsee occasions when the ramp might be too shallow in some of the places that I go.

For the record, I am towing with a Citroen C5 Wagon and cannot say enough about the value of hydropneumatic suspension for this kind of work. Engine is kind of small but still managed 110kph (68mph) down the freeway with a typical travelling load.

I think this has been discussed here before, but it was mentioned briefly just the other day in another thread as well

He could probably elaborate more on this...he also knows first-hand about the benefits of extra friction on the trailer. Right Chip :o
