RUST PROOFING a MAC-X Trailer ? ?

Post by LOUIS B HOLUB »

Has anyone tried the SPRAY on "stuff" used in Truck Bedliners? A "STORE" says it will work well on my MAC-X Trailer, and has been used on Livestock Trailers, Fishing Trailer Rigs, and RVs (and many TRUCK BEDs) with great success. This seems to be a GREAT OPTION to save the MAC TRAILERS which rust so badly over short periods of time...specially when SALT WATER EXPOSED. ANY experiences with this IDEA :?:

I used the search feature and found that in post talking about painting the Mac Trailers, it has been mentioned before as a possible option.

the search feature is located right below the banner add in the center of the screen, it is a little awkward at first, but you will be amazed at the wealth of info sotred in old threads.

As a follow-up, I think you may find that even if that "Spray on Bedliner" would work, it could be a lot more expensive than some of the fixes talked aobut in the link I put to the Rust thread.

Good Luck on the Rust Patrol!

Anyone heard about negative charge systems like the one in this article? The technique is used to prevent corrosion on underground metal pipes and may be the better mousetrap for the rusting MAC trailer.

With the cost of new trailers running between $ 2500 and 5g's. Some of the treatements by be too expensive. You might just try a cheep solution by washing you trailer right after pulling it out of the water and spray with WD-40 after you wash your boat.
