Replacement jib

Post by davidpage »

The sunbleached outter seam on my original jib has just split and I need to replace it. It was on a CDI furler. I've been quoted $350 Can (~US$300). Good price? Can I do better?

Any challenges in replacing it on the roller?

It's on a '01 x

A new MacGregor standard jib lists for $235 US and Bill@Boats4Sail sells it for $190 US, IIRC. The genoa is $390 US and Bill offers it for $330.

Instructions for installing a sail on the CDI Furler are in the Owners Manual

10 minute job to put the genny on the CDI furler, especially if you lube the luff a bit. I used soap solution.
