26M north of Georgetown Bahamas

Post by ris »

We have a Canadian friend who is just north of Georgetown Bahamas in his 27 ft Ranger Tug. Sent the pic below of a 26M mac owner from Thunder Bay Ontario. He trailered down to Miami, launched the Mac, crossed to Bimini Bahamas and is now a days travel above Georgetown. My friend said this is the 3rd Mac owner he has talked to this year in the Bahamas. Wondered if anyone knows this boat. Boat name Solaris.

Too bad they raised the cruising fees over there. Id still like to go but its not worth 2000 dollars for a couple months. Plus fuel costs and with that setup that guy is doing a lot of motoring.

Wow!
What a trip those guys are on!
A nice set up too with the fiberglass motorized dinghy to get to shore and explore with!
They have apparently thought about and prepared for this trip.

As so many folks have said before, MacGregors are the do-it-all reasonably well boat!
It may not be the fastest, or highest performance, or the biggest, or the fanciest… but it sure does get to do-it-all and provides a whole-lotta-fun along the way! I hope they have a fantastic trip with lots of really happy memories! Kudos to them! 8) 8)

A trip like that to the Bahamas would be something!
We can appreciate those MacGregor (and all the other small boat owners) that can undertake such an adventure!

Best Regards,
