Macgregor X and M under power

Macgregor X and M under power.

Nice shot of an X and M under power in YT. I'm going to post a pro-Mac blurb. 8)

BTW, this was discussed in detail over here…

Might want to continue the discussion over there to keep things together.

Left a comment on his video where he used my YouTube content. Let Old Boat Saolor know he is ignorant on Macs.

Yesterday in the Chesapeake.

We sailed as well or out sailed other sailboats in our class with our new sails.

Just saw another "11 worst sailboats ever" on YT. The person appears to be remarkably ignorant about the Macgregor line. I left a blurb and I encourage others to do so also. Be nice. 8)

Has 113 subscribers. Not much of a YouTube channel. I see a lot of these lately. They steal video clips from other YouTube videos (notice the MAC race video), slap a script together, and use an AI narrator to make a video.

It reeks of amateurism and ignorance. It's pure clickbait. Just look at his other stupid videos. Is that Anderson Cooper on the thumbnail?

I gave it a thumbs down rating (which lowers the algorithm). Once I think of something clever, I'll post a comment.

I dunno, he says their sale prices dropped to $1500 in 2024. I shopped a long time in 2024 before buying in October, and the only 26X/M I saw in that money range had been liberated of its motor and had major structural damage. So it looks like he's quoting lowest posted salvage prices on the internet without any actual knowledge of the sale, almost like it's pure click bait or something... I prefer the ones where they just get included in the worst sailboat designs, kinda like including a Swiss army knife in the worst screwdriver designs, yeah, no sh~t Sherlock, not really the point.

Hey!
I LOVE my Swiss Army Knife!
It’s gotten me out of countless serious and not so serious situations over the multiple decades!
I wouldn’t ever consider going on an adventure (or just out and about) without it!
It’s help fix airplanes and jet engines, MRI/NMR equipment, Plasma deposition systems, computers, cars, boats, and several posh parties along with several picnics where the official corkscrew was forgotten! (That last one was important!)
Pbbbbbttttttt on anyone who thinks otherwise! So there! :D :D

Now when it comes to pseudo self ascribed ‘genius’s opinions on what constitutes a best or worst of anything … that I can do without! :D :P

IMHO the best boat is one that gets used and enjoyed safely as much as possible!
IMHO the worst boat is one that sits unused and neglected….

IMHO… If YouTube actually was having some integrity they’d actually find and strip videos made from others content without permissions and penalize repeat offenders! But wait… YouTube is owned by Google which is owned by Alphabet which is owned by billionaires who don’t care about such things nowadays…. :D :D :D  :D :D

oh well……

Oh, Youtube cares about some things. Include any copyrighted music and you will get deplatformed. I've been dinged so many times.

What they don't seem to know how to do is identify actual video content. Especially when it seems these youtubers grab short clips from all kinds of sources.

Commenting on the video "These 11 sailboats are worthless in 2026", I as well spendt 3 months in 2024 researching every x that came on the market on several sites and found none less than $10,000 before buying mine. I had no idea they were $15,000 new in 2002, that looks like they hold their value pretty good in a 22 year period! I've had no structural issues that I have dealt with on mine.

A little Swiss army boat indeed...

You could put a Halberg Rassey on a list of the 10 worst motor boat designs of all time, really says more about the list maker than the boat..
