Mac 26S head door measurements to make a new one

Post by 92MacGregor26-S »

Hi. My first post! Got a 92 Mac 26S but it came without the head door. I'd like to make one out of plywood but don't have the measurements. Could someone share the dimensions with me? I'm attaching a picture of another boat's head door, mine would have been like this. I appreciate any help!

Congratulations on acquiring a great boat. You can readily made a door that will nicely close the head off. From our experience I suggest you go with a simple shower curtain type of enclosure. It will do the job with ease.

Thank you for the suggestion! This will work great for the time being. I would really love to restore to original condition. Would love to put in the hard head door if I can get some measurements.

With all of those curves you are going to need to make a template. Have someone hold up cardboard while you trace the shape from the inside. You can start with multiple pieces and then transfer everything to a single, large piece where you can check everything before cutting out the door. Once piece of plywood and a router or sabre saw and you should be in business.
