Was doing an inspection today since it was nice. Noticed a little flakey thing…poked it. Poked it again. It may be the source of what little water I had get in this winter…
What do yall think?

That may be the source, but not necessarily. Is the black fender strip that goes around the boat in good shape? That can also be a source if the boat took a couple of side impacts when docked?
Water flows to the area of least resistance, so the source of your leak could be farther forward.
Looks like there was a bubble between the gel coat and the polyester. It’s a common manufacturing defect in fiberglass products. In which case, it’s not a leak issue. I would simply get some Marine-Tex, fill the void with it, and apply masking tape over it to give you a smooth finish. When it hardens (give it a couple of days above 70F), you can then sand and polish it.
Your water very likely came from another source. I’d take a close look at your chain plates… they are a common source of leaks in Macs and a great many other boats.
The starboard side has more wear and tear and space between the rub rail and the cap… and some green growth in the space…it seems to have held water.
The port chain plate did have some sort of fibrous growth attached to it which made NO SENSE…but I did not get a picture before I ripped it off.
Long story short this was the first winter outside in some years I am aware of…learning lessons.
