Caught by a Drone!

Post by Be Free »

A couple of days ago I was watching a drone video shot by a local business. It is a great aerial shot of the Steinhatchee River. About the 3:15 mark it is showing the entrance to the boat ramp I use and I thought that the boat looked familiar. I zoomed in on some stills and sure enough, it is me coming back to the dock to pick up some last minute gear just before my trip this April.

I don't know how long this video is going to be available but it is worth a couple of minutes to see what it's like around here.

It's a very beautiful area and usually very quiet. We have about 500 full-time residents.

Scallop season opens on the 15th and we will be inundated with visitors for the next month or so. It's good for local businesses, but I don't plan to go near the ramp on the weekend for at least six weeks.

Will you still remember us little people when you're a star in Hollywood? :)

Been there. Done that. Didn't get a t-shirt. 8)

I worked as an extra and a snake wrangler back in the late 70's on a really bad movie with Stan Brock (remember Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom). I don't know if any of my scenes ever made it into the movie; I never bothered to watch it. I think they ended up calling it Escape from Angola or something close to that.
