Roller furling mod

Post by chadwiseman »

Last year I found the rope in the bottom of the roller wouldn’t roll properly due to the angle of approach. Added this simple pulley today and seems to have corrected the issue . Figured I’d share..

I have a pulley mounted on the deck near the bow that serves the same purpose. It's also useful to attach a second line through the pulley to the furler while raising the mast. Raise the mast as normal, and take out the slack on this second line to keep the furler from banging around on the deck.
