Head in 26m
We just finished a three week cruise. The time on the boat was used for:
1. Sailing/motoring in the cockpit--the Admiral and me.
2. Cooking/eating in the cabin and cockpit. Again two people.
3. Sleeping-two people
4. Entertaining friends from other boats in the cockpit/cabin. Five or six people.
5. Using the head.
The above list is sort of in priority order. Your list may vary, but I'll bet the head is at the bottom of the list. While I don't particularly like the head in the M, I would not move it or enlarge it if it took away from any of the 4 functions above it. I liked the X head better, but it made entering the sleeping area difficult and crunched the seating area a bit.
If the head were much higher on my list I would be talking to my Hunbenecata dealer.

If you are buying the boat
1 Do a detailed analysis of your intended sailing plans and work up a neural network algorithm on a Cray to optimise your choice. Dont forget to include any 4th mode sailing in your plans, and gybing centerboards.
or
2 Have the Admiral look at the X and M and see which one she likes. Buy that one.
