Window Trim. 26M

Ok.. started working on replacing the window trim on the Mac 26M.
The trim IS modified..and cut down on one side so it will not "overhang" on one side...

The trim on all the other components are cut down on BOTH sides... (like the bathroom door.. etc.)
So what I have been doing is

using is 5/8" t moulding . (this is what the factory used)
Installing it temporary in the bathroom door.
Using a T moulding quad trimmer to trim (both sides) . Special tool for trimming T moulding... Amazon..$40
Removing it from the door...
Installing it in the window
Repeat.
Prior to installing it in the window I soak the particle board with PC Woody Wood Hardener (aval at home hardware in Canada.. all over in usa)
Let it dry for 24hrs.. and even "lose grooves" tighten up.. (hmmm.. where else can I use this ?)

Here is what the trim looks like .. you can see that its only cut on one side.

This is the tool you use to trim T-Moulding.

Insert your TOO BIG T-Molding into the folding door in the 26M bathroom.
Place the tool over it.. squeeze.. and slide it up/down.
It will trim BOTH sides.
Remove the plastic T-Molding.. install on windows.

When I made my window trim for my 2008 I painted the edges with Matt black plastic paint it gave them a 3D effect so they did,nt look like they were just stuck on there & also added a more depth look I done that to all the trim I installed on my boat I tried varnish but just looked blah then tried the matt black & bingo I siad that,s nice lookin , I went on line checking out what boat designers done & found out a lot of then do that as it adds more depth & giving off a 3d effect
I also done the same with my overhead cubby above the dinning table & my galley Hutch

I have the same issue on my 26M. Mostly it is probably just from age, although the top piece surrounding the daggerboard well seems to have some water damage such that the plywood has swelled a bit.

Anyway, I researched this a bit, and ran across advice from those who refinish classic arcade consoles. Seems the same T trim was used extensively on those. Best advice seemed to be using a hot glue gun to deposit a bead on the spine (tip of the T) and press that into the slot.

Just finished doing that on my boat today and am pretty satisfied. A few burned fingers from occasions where I did get a little too generous with the glue gun, but I'll live. Easy clean up.

ONly problem with making the T Molding perm. is that it turns crunchy with age/uv/heat. It will still crack.. better to seal the wood.. then hammer in the T Molding (we did this when restoring Arcade machines all the time)
Use PC Woody products.. Petrifier, wood hardener .. a milk like liquid.. dribble it into the wood.. it soaks in.. and turns rock hard.. wood will swell a tiny bit too.
