I'm interested in removing the wood trim around my M's windows. I see some model year M's don't have the wood trim and appear to use the beige nut covers. Has anyone every removed these wood ones? Did they use wood screws into these or are they just glued over the nuts?

Re: Window Wood Trim Removal
I'm away from my boat and paperwork, but I bought mine new at the end of 2007. I recall the boat and/or the trailer was a 2008 model. Here is a picture from the old MacGregor website. It is the same vinyl covered plywood with black plastic trim as the table/head door/bulkheads/battery cover/etc. I see the screws on the outside around the perimeter of each window, but they do not come all the way through the plywood.Sea Shadow wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 4:12 am I have anand I don't think they ever came with wooden window covers/frames. I'm assuming, the windows are glued down like car windshields and screws are a secondary fasteners. What I really want to know is: If I remove the screws will the plywood just come off or is it also glued? I'd rather know instead of assume. I only need to remove one for my MX-5 Mod, but down the road, I'll want to change the wood to match the color I'm using for all my other mods.
Thanks.

Re: Window Wood Trim Removal
To follow up, in case someone in the future wants to know...
The furthest aft, starboard window surround has six black wood screws mounted through from the outside. They are not machine screws with nuts as in later models. They do screw into the wood frame. After removing these, the frame did not simply fall down as was hoped. Tugging on it to remove, I found no glue, but did find two more wood screws at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions whose heads are inaccessible under the Plexiglas window.
