Re: Nominations Open for "Worst Skinflint" of this Site
I appreciate the nomination of my bucket lid trailer fender. I think Sumner's above deck anchor locker, which houses anchor chain and rode, deserves consideration. He uses a soft cooler for this task, on his classic. Also, I'd self nominate the trailer hitch ball which I attached to an aluminum rod, which gets inserted into the mast crutch pedestal socket. The trailer hitch ball sits a few inches above my Garmin, and is usually good for a few "What do you tow with that?" comments. Actually, it serves as a great hand hold when moving past the pedestal, and reduces the risk of a guest grabbing the Garmin as a hand hold. Garmin does a great job for navigation, but pretty useless as a hand hold.

While I considered myself the King of Home Depot vs. West Marine mods & Duct tape & Flex Seal vs... -Anything Nautical. & let’s not forget [Pvc ? stretch tape - also a plumbing part from HD- I’m drawing a blank
All I got is: I use a solar 2NM [Really,?/from Ebay] Lamp as my Always on, at dusk anchor - light that sits on top of my Solid state radar; And the 8Dcell batteries camp lights [2] that I use as interior lights - that I got at Cotco/ BJ’s - cause I ain’t got none otherwise that work. - & my cell phone as my backup VHF; To hail the launch for mooring pick up
Oh! I Got One! The $10 inflateable dog I got -To Keep the Seagulls from Crapping on my boat while in the mooring field! Boys & Girls -This Works
