Hello everyone, after consulting posts I decided to take the plunge and buy a 5500 lbs lift for my 26x. Attached (hopefully) is a picture. I live on the shore of Lake St Louis (broadening of the St Lawrence river) across Montréal, and while I have a good mooring about 200 ft away, the convenience of dock side parking was just irresistible... With that one, I can easily lift the boat with ballast full.
Thanks Kevin. As soon as the border reopens, we plan on heading down to Lake Champlain, a 45 min.drive from here. I actually was looking at boat ramps with overnight parking and there appears to be a nice one in Rouses Point. We might however head on down to the a thousand islands region first for a shake down cruise.
We’re not up there yet, Guy, but I expect we will be in the next few weeks. Our cottage is on the tip of Point Au Fer, and overnight anchoring around the Point from us in King’s Bay is quite lovely.
We keep our X just across the lake from you at the PCYC on Cartier.
We do the 1000 islands once or twice per year, and Lake Champlain once or twice as well. Feel free to PM me if you are interested in our experiences there.

Stay safe.

Yes, the Rouses Point ramp is great - very sheltered, not too terribly busy and the parking is walking distance to the shops. We use it all the time to pop our power boat into the water.
If you do plan to get down our way, drop me a PM on here and we'll send our phone number, etc.
