Replacing Woodwork

Post by knotworking »

I was given a Venture on Newport 23 with no paperwork, so I don't know the year. I want to replace all the exterior woodwork and wonder if MacGregor used teak or something else. What would be your recommendations?

Teak is always my marine wood. It's natural oil is resistant to rot and the elements. But it's $pendy.

I'm sure there are some good carpenters here who will chime in.
