Mac trade

Post by Patbrogan »

We would love to sail the Florida Keys but our 26m in California. Ideally we might trade a week or so on either lake taboe (we have condo and dock) or in Bay Area (we have dock space on he delay near Sf bay). Or we trail our boat...

Keys are GREAT sailing....if you go you must hit one or several reefs ....alligator reef and sombrero reef...absolutely beautiful my vote is for alligator reef

Would love to discuss further! Patbrogan@yahoo.com
Even just sailing with you there would be fun. I read the post above about hitting the reefs and hope he wasn’t being literal!

Actually the coral is more fragile than the boat, sad to say. If you hit it you not only damage your boat but may in fact be fined by the park. :?

Haha no I didn't mean run into any reefs I meant go to alligator reef or sombrero..... I personally like islamorada area the best.... it has my favorite reef (alligator reef) it has the sandbar ...loralei restaurant... and snake creek which is a drawbridge there as well which makes passing from ocean to gulf side easy..... I've never gone up to largo I've done lower keys and middle keys mostly but hope to go to Christ of abyss this summer maybe but so far middle keys are my fav

The Islamorada district is one of my favs too. Shopping on shore, art galleries, clothing, pretty good gulfside harbor. Close to lots of points of interest.
Hurricane removed most of the abandoned boats and the clean up removed some of the existing beached boats.
Indian key is also a super overnight trip too.
