Newbie introduction
Good morning! My wife and I just picked up our first Macgregor this weekend from Wareham, MA. It's a lovely little '93 19M that has been in storage for the past 15 years. It needs a good cleaning and new cushions all around. The PO started a re-wire that I'll have to sort out and complete and the hatch has a nice crack in it but I'll just build a sliding hatch to replace it. No motor on it right now but I have a lead on a couple of different 40's - anything I should look out for in that respect? I'm sure as we dig into it over the winter I'll have a lot of questions! My winter punch list is getting long and now includes getting rid of a 33' Chris Craft Commander that needs a repower. Never a dull moment around here!

Be careful where the tiller is located on the motors you are looking at. If it is on the side, it might restrict your turning movement and thus radius.
I would also suggest getting longer rudders. The ones for a Hobie can be used with minor modifications.

Welcome.
Sounds like you have some fun projects.
Why not consider a 50 motor? Might be easier to find and more fun.,

Thanks for the warm welcome! The pizzas were delivered here last night and were very quickly consumed! Its amazing how quick hungry teenagers can make food disappear... Now if I could get one of them to start sewing I wouldnt have to pay to have cushions made.
Has anyone used that Seadek material for the cockpit seats? I think I'll order some for my sit-on-top kayak to try out.

I would recommend you post that last question in a new post titled "Cockpit seat cushions" for example
You'll get more responses that way
Cheers
