Hi ED, Bob again.
Some of the earlier Mac's used the same mast as the 26X. When I got my X it had no mast, boom, rigging etc. So like you I went looking. I found a older Mac in poor condition on a trailer with mast boom sails etc. about 120 miles away from me. I offered $300 for all.
The problem moving a mast is you will have to take the boat to do it and I only had a Camry and the boat was in the mountains. I found a guy close to where the the boat was located who wanted a boat hull to use as a water tank. So I made a deal with him, he would haul the boat and trailer to his place and dump the boat and I could take all I wanted off the boat, mast, boom, sales etc. and then I hauled the trailer with the mast with my Camry back to my place. There was no documentation for the boat or trailer and rather then go through the DMV hassle, I removed the axle and made mine a dual. Scrap trailer $75.
A fair price is how badly the seller wants to get rid of his item. I'd try $200 and work up. If no deal, keep looking. Craig's List is great, that's were I found everything.
Good luck Bob.

Supply and demand is tricky on odd items like masts. 2-400 seems fair...However if the only option is not having one or paying around a grand just to have one shipped a lot wider price range seems "fair". I paid $200, but would not have felt ripped if the seller had wanted more since my next option was $1500+ and would take who knows how long to ship. What is an honest offer for it?

I bought and sold one for $300. Got it for a spare but figured I'd never use it so sold it on the board here to a sailor in Texas.

Hello all! I have a 26s on trailer that got a big whole in its hull when it was torn from a mooring ball. I'm willing to part it out or unload the whole thing for reasonable price EM me at this site if you're interested.

The 26M has a different section and is longer than all the other masts. Be sure you get the right one for your boat.
