Working on an extension for Washington tax exemption to move the new boat out of state. If they will grant it I'd be down there right in time for the Van boat show, if not I'll be a week early
. Have heard many good things about it and I would assume there are deals to be had

There are always deals to be had, and it's definitely worth going if you live in Vancouver; if not, depends a bit on travel costs. But if you don't ski - what else are you going to do in January?

I just told my partner about the boat show, she is staying in central Vancouver from the 11th of Jan until the 25th while visiting her daughter, she is keen to go.
What is the location of the show? Is it near the city center, she is staying about 2 blocks south of the river

Indoor at BC place and outdoor at Granville Island. With The transit system in Van everywhere is pretty easy to get to.

While Im pretty lucky that she enjoys sailing as much if not more than I do, spending boats dollars isnt high on her agenda.
Not sure how all that works, she loves the boat and loves sailing yet I get to spend all the money and time on boat upkeep while she just does the enjoyable stuff
I have had new Registration numbers I bought for the boat over 18 months ago, her job was to wipe the area over with cleaner / dewaxer and put the stickers on.
Alas we still float around without our rego numbers on the bow.
HOWEVER on the plus side, I dont get complaints when I say Im going up to the boat to do some work and return 8 hours later, so its swings and roundabouts I guess
I will make a list (and check it twice)
I would really like some new sails while she is there, sooo much cheaper than here

Waiting for Judy to give me some numbers on postage.
However their is a concern in regards to import duty, seems if the import is worth less than $1000AU then you dont have to pay import duty, but you get slugged if the value is $1000 or higher
Now as $1000Au is only around $665 US getting sails imported whilst avoiding the import tax is a hard thing

My partner is keen to go, she will miss everything nautical we have around the house, we have a couple of fenders in the lounge at the moment waiting to go back to the boat after they came home for a clean, not to mention the odd life jacket and other sailing stuff that just seems to find its way in here

Well its looking like we'll be on the water before or during the show. Weather permitting we're throwing around the idea of anchoring in False creek to check in with customs and maybe check out the show
