Well, it's that time of the year again. Looking through the photos of Summer 2016. Got any favorites to share?
Over the years we have collected a couple of extra digital cameras, so I gave a sacrificial one to the kids when we left home on our trips, and the results are really amazing. Not great photography but a whole different perspective of what we are doing.

At anchor after a day of adventuring in the 1000 islands, Ontario:
This one was taken by me. The boys are exploring as my brother and I used to do almost 40 years ago when we were that age.
Who gets the best parking spot on a busy weekend? The Mac. We had a few people come over in total surprise to figure out how we could park in a foot of water. Many were waving us off as we weaved through the anchored motorboats, expecting a hard grounding at any time. We came in through the gap at the left of the photo in front of the other "real" sailboat that was anchored out in the bay. It was a rocky, shallow passage but we have been there before and I knew it was the perfect route.
2016 MMOR (Ontario MacGregor Sailors Rendezvous) was the highlight of this past season.

A little rain and cloudy weather, but mostly sunny and warm.
I didn't think to take a panoramic shot, but I did shoot a 30 second video panorama, from almost water level. Crikey! wasn't there when this was taken, though.
Here we are at Roche Harbor, San Jaun Island, Washington State USA. A five hour motor from our home port of Crescent Beach, B.C., Canada.
We spent 14 days there this year - tied up at the same slip the whole time. Lots of years we have island hopped around the San Juan's and Gulf Islands looking for adventure, but this year we were in search of relaxation - and found it! Great crabbing, lots of local clams, oysters, and spot prawns, amazing restaurant for a treat, great stock of Bailies Irish Cream and Pepper Vodka in the general store. Lots of great local sites, and a short walk to the local Gin Factory, beautiful sheltered bay for dingy sailing ... what else does one need
Here's a few from our year end wrap up flotilla...a little beyond summer but still good times.
Arrived at the club and had to shovel 4" of snow from docks and boats before shoving off, sailed to the end of the lake where we had a bbq and anchored for the night and then woke up to a few inches of snow again and sailed back to club.
