Ris, sorry to miss you. We are in Niagara and won't be back until Monday night. Lock 43 (Swift Rapids) is our favourite overnight spot on the Severn side. Take a look at the lower side for berthing. It's secluded, out of the wind and a great place for a fire.
All the best for the next stage of your trip!

When u get to the big chute marine railway Lock #44 before u head down the Gloucester Gorge into Gloucester pool @ the bottom make sure u have full ballast in both rudders down & some center board , make sure there r no boats starting to come up before u enter the Gorge its a fairly narrow passage so u don,t really want to be meeting another boat half way down , if following another boat down keep well back , the current can run very fast down through there especially after a few days of rain
At the bottom of the Gloucester Pool there used to be a couple of dock slips & BBQ,s where u can stop for lunch , not sure if they allowed overnight slipping @ the docks tho , their should be a sign @ the dock slips as u get off the slip onto land
Oh I think u might want to dump ballast before going on the Marine Rail Lock check with them first but I guess u would only be able to dump it once raised out of the water, but might not be necessary
Just remember once u start going down through the Gorge there is no turning back be safe be well & keep enjoying ur trip
What route r u planning once into Georgian Bay , Port Severn & Honey Harbour r very nice spots but check ur charts & have ur depth sounder on as there is a lot of hidden shoals & reefs around
