Lowes grill cover, cut on a side. Fits perfectly, for only 25 bucks. I cannot tell you how durable it is, mine is 1 year old and going.

Re: Console cover for 26X?
I made mine complete with embroidered insignia out of some left over Sunbrella fabric I had from another project. I thought it turned out rather well:

Lesson # 1 in the sport of boating:
"Cheap" is never used in reference to anything considered "boat".

Menard's grill cover (put small slit in top and two strips of duck tape. $5. Replace them every two years or so.

Upside down large garbage barrel would work... but without duct tape - that'd be too trashy!

Cover it? Why?
Isn't it meant to be outside?
If you are covering the console, how about the whole boat?
Although I will say this looks pretty nice.

Thanks. Grill cover sounds great. Wife won't let me cover the entire boat.

Re: Console cover for 26X?
I use a "kettle grill" cover from the Improvements catalogue. It has a nice look to it, and it has elastic at base of "skirt" to hug the console and Velcro straps to put around the wheel. I secure the boom to the railing on the far side so it all goes over the stainless steel arch where we attach the mainsheet underway. $25 and well made.

A cover would have been much better than finding out I had nesting white face hornets in my console out on the river.RussMT wrote:Cover it? Why?

I had to nuke the poor things because I had no idea how to coax them out with a hose in all that electronics.

I vote for the kettle grill cover. No boat tax.Herschel wrote:I use a "kettle grill" cover from the Improvements catalogue. Thanks for the tip! Went to Lowes, bought one and it's a close fit.Dragos Filimon wrote:Lowes grill cover, cut on a side. Fits perfectly, for only 25 bucks. I cannot tell you how durable it is, mine is 1 year old and going.
