Looks like Loch Lomond Marina in San Rafael.

Yep I remember San Rafael , worked & lived there for about 6 months in my younger days , met quite a few prospective Admirals there too I might say :) but these were the days of "free love" way back then !! :wink:

Those are brave sailors outside of san fran bay - the ocean there can get really RUFF!

That's Loch Lomand all right. That used to be my launching point for world sailing adventures as a kid. I would sail out and around the Marin Islands, that seemed like the end of the earth. The conditions are great right there, different from other parts of the bay. Lots of wind from the northwest, but not much fetch for the waves. China Camp was a close sail away. Great memories.
In case anyone doesn't know the story, google the Flyin Hawaiian catamaran that some guy built there.
