Pants ripper

Metal Rails along side of cockpit (I thing they are rear attachments for Dodger) has sharp corners that catch pants of people getting in and out of boat.
Someone told me there is a "cap" that can fit over and smooth the end. Source for this?

Those are T-tracks for genoa cars. You can buy end caps for them. I don't remember what size they are, but they're small as T-tracks go, and they're a commercial item.

Edit: They're 1". Don't remember who made them, though.

T track was the magic phrase that allowed me to find the product-- Ronstan 25 T-track end cap. Supposedly available from Vela sailing and West
Marine, but don't have em in my hand yet. Thanks, Tom Foolery.

I think about that every so often, but just haven't gotten around to doing anything about it. One of these days.

Just be aware that you may not be able to add or remove genoa lead cars once the caps are on. Not a problem if you never use them, or always use them. Just mentioning it so you're not building a boat in your basement.

Have had both myself, and the Admiral fail the rip test on these things. If you're vaulting off-board for a docking, something's going to give. Nice tip!

I had the same problem on my 26M. I just ground off the sharp corners at the ends. No problems since.

I think mine have smooth enough corners that nothing has caught on them. I only have three cars so I have to be able to move them to the cabintop tracks when I have the jib on. Which isn't very often. If they did catch on things I'd just round over the corners with a file before I would put the end caps on.

Thats the problem with wearing fish net bikini briefs , bikini thongs r less susceptible to catching on anything being less to catch

I ripped a pair of jeans and put on the caps. They required a little filing to fit perfectly. I only put them on the forward end so I needed one pair. I can still slide my bimini and genoa hardware up from the stern. This is an easy fix and I recommend it.

Just make sure you're not wearing yur kilt when you have one of those things on! Gets kinda windy on a sailboat...

I just finished re-fitting a new mast on my and practically shortened every factory bolt with a hacksaw and file, to cut (way) down on the rope and sail snagging that was previously going on. Some were overlong by a ridiculous 1/2" or more! There's probably another ten or so, elsewhere, that I have to attend to still.

I resolved that problem by just adding another ss nut with locktite no cutting or filing
