San Juan Islands, WA 7-28 to 8-7++

Post by Newell »

The Venture Yacht Club is doing the San Juans' launching at Washington Park, hitting several islands with a turnaround at Prevost Is. BC. I just rejoined the club and plan to take the X and the wife. Don't know how many boats are committed, have heard 6-8. I'm not speaking for the club but I'm sure interested sailors could be a part of this trip, either by offering advise, those with local knowledge, or joining the club and give it a go. I haven't been on these waters for 40 years so looking forward to the trip. :macx: :D

When do you think you'll be at Prevost? James Bay on Prevost is one of our regular haunts. Great place to meet up.

The MaGregor Yacht Club of BC would like to invite you to join us at our annual Rear Commodore's Cruise to Telegraph Harbour Marina on Thetis Island the weekend of August 1-4, 2014. It is only another hour north of your Prevost Island stop. We are expecting at least a dozen of our member boats and would love to have you join us if you can. If joining us isn't going to work for the weekend, I believe there are at least 3 of us launching in Blaine Wa. around Wednesday July 30 and entering back into Canada to spend a couple days exploring the Canadian Gulf Islands. Stops at Prevost Island and Montague Harbour on Galiano Island are probably on the agenda. It would be great to meet up with you, even if it is only for a few hours. You can join the MYCBC website for free and access a lot of the information we have there as well as contact our many members.
