Well looks like another trip down the Murray hopefully from Echuca but if the Torumbery lock is too low will just put in down stream from there, don't care how long as won't be in a hurry but want to finish the river at Mildura, it's always a good trip on this river.
Got the mast etc off today so should head off friday or at worst the following monday be good to come across another mac but probably not much chance of that..

Re: Murray River Trip
Didn't think the wife would be keen but she's coming, we have a family sickness that means she may have to disembark somewhere urgently, thats if we can get phone service plus a couple of other problems but this might be the only window to finish the river in the
.
Not really worried about the 80k section between Echuca and Torumberry weir but can go there with any boat anytime as it's not far from home.
At this point we are taking the two little dogs so that will be a test with the young one being a Jack Russell x Patterdale, they won't be coming below and the JR likes water so he will have to be contained somehow or he might go hunting.
This is the last leg of the whole river from Yarrawonga to Wellington, we also went from Yarrawonga to the Iron Gate below Corowa above the Yarrawonga weir, it would be nice to go right through to the hume weir but it's a bit tricky in a few places I think.
This trip will be with very few supplies, tools etc and fridge only for fridge not freezing so mightn't even take the third battery but will take the two panels in case I have to stop due to family business for a few days or so.
Will be going a bit faster this time as last year I found the optimum speed for economy is about 2000 rpm rather than 1500 also there is less need to clear unburnt oil after long periods so the motor is happier, also using the smaller prop.
Will try to send some pictures as this river still rates as the best trips anywhere we have been in the other sections but then I grew up on it at Mulwala.
