Thanks Russ

Merry Christmas to you..

I bought and re-fitted this VN23 with one thing in mind....camping and overnighting...

The fact that it as sails has always been secondary to me at the moment...hence my "lake mast" setup...

In all these "boat flips" in this thread I have been slowly scavenging and pilfering things to make the VN23 the ultimate overnighter/weekender

I can't wait till next "season" to take her out again and stay over on her...

meanwhile I am off to Syracuse NY tomorrow afternoon for the holidays....

There is a guy up there on the syracuse Craigslist with a 17 foot boat I am thinking about buying and bringing back to NC with me for $300
so stay tuned

happy holidays mates!

I wonder if one of the mods could edit this thread title to "Flip this boat"

It's been fun watching you do this. I may drive out to check on my boat, all covered up with 12" of snow on it. Have to live vicariously for a few months. Love the Aussies on this forum in the winter.

Merry Christmas and good luck with your travels.

The ski boat Needs a "new floor" and if you have ever restored a powerboat you know that means rotten stringers and transom as well
Bought it for the trailer and the motor. Hope to sell the motor for around $300 and the trailer for about $250
Junking the boat

the Catalina is nice! have to (well did) some fiberglass work on the companion-way...re-rig her and a washdown....I plan to ask around $3k for it when I am finished, which should be later on this week.

I buy them so I can get parts for my VN23....then I sell them for profit

This thread has kinda turned into "boat flip" but it's really staying true to topic as all this work/boats is part of the quest to pimp out the VN23 to the max

The Catalina has this super cool "sliding Galley" inside with sink and Icebox....when your finished with it you slide it aft in a track.....if it wasn't on the wrong side of the boat (starboard side) I WOULD put it in the VN23....but my table is on the Starboard side....it wouldn't work.

If you want the ski boat Cat you can have it.....trailer would be $250 though :P

Happy New year mates

I stripped down and sold the ski boat.

Sold the motor for $250

Sold the trailer (with the junk hull, he wanted it) for $250

Kept the swim ladder and some other bits

Not bad for a $150 investment....

Working on the Catalina still....Fiberglass work is almost done...hopefully today

cheers mates

That yard would look a lot more natural with about 12-24 inches of crystallized water on it.

Been Busy but the weather has slowed things down....expecting the Artic Snowmageddon in Raleigh today/tonight

So I went out yesterday and bought 2 more sailboats.

a 20' Ensenada (??) with trailer/mast/boom/sails and titles for $300

And maybe a 25 foot Buccaneer to scrap, but no trailer....not sure on this one yet

Cheers mates...boat season will be here soon enough

Hey, I can quit anytime :P :P

Kells went out with her new owner today for $1700 (not bad for my $500 investment and $80 in misc)

Cheers Mates!
