Holiday sailing

Post by sunshinecoasting »

Well the best plans can come undone, I have landed a job at Whitworths of all places so that upsets my sailing plans as far as Gold Coast is concerned. I have booked a week in the Mooloolaba marina but am working all but the public holidays, at least I will have new years eve on the boat anchored in the bay to watch the fire works. I will live aboard for the week and commute to work from the boat, I can sail for a couple of hours each night after work before it gets too dark. Still it will be nice to spend a week on the boat even if I am trapped in the marina most of the time. If anyone can get up this way over the break then look me up, maybe we can have a sail together or at least a few drinks in the marina, my email is denlit01@hotmail.com just send me a message and we can organise something. Merry Christmas to everyone and stay safe.

Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis

Thanks for the invite to catch up. I won't be up over summer, but am looking forward to heading up your way around May to August. Will definitely try to catch up then, if still OK.

Enjoy Whitworths - some of us sailaholics might say that working at Whitworths would be like working in a brothel ?!?!?!?!

Have a merry Christmas.

Lol. It is a tease but I do meet some interesting people with a common interest. Definitely drop me a line when you come up, are you bringing the boat with you?

Whitworths 8) I'm assuming it possibly doesn't pay as much as IT manager was Dennis, but hey, no stress, easy work, and you get to meet fellow boaters and see the latest toys coming out. Sounds like a good job. Now, whats the staff discount for family and "friends"? :D

We have no real plans other than, we are going to put the boat in the water on about the 28th, and go for about a week. If the weather is bad, we will turn right and muck about near the Goldy. If the weather is good, we will turn left and play on the Bay for a week.
