3rd coat is on the Kells

Cut the plywood for the pop top cover and stained it
Washed the topside and taping it for paint tomorrow

Found a 4hp johnson for $80 I think will go on the back of it

Cheers

Bad News: The $80 Johnson 4hp was missing the pull start assembly....manually wind a rope around it

Good news: Brought it home for $50 (and he threw in a nice coleman white gas lamp- worth easily $50 by itself and a 5 gallon gas tank)

Fresh gas, 2nd pull....fired up and run smooth as can be, and pumping water

Bonus Dance 8) 8) 8)

80 degrees yesterday

Got the blue finished
and the first coat of topside white

Image

Made a motor mount (wood piece was missing) and mounted my $50 Johnson 4hp as well as the rudder assembly

Image

A dry fit of the plywood trim piece for the pop top

Image

And then got absoloutly S**t-faced last night watching the sun go down with the admiral and my neighbors....in shorts

Then this morning, it's raining and about 40 degrees

I'd like to get another coat of topside white on it, but looks like next painting window will be about Wednesday next week

However she is just about done....

Any thoughts on what I might get for her at market?
I put the porta-pottie that came with the 27' buccaneer in this one, so future admirals will approve the purchase....dude, the potty seals the deal I learned

Cheers

Ha you can keep that temp. I'm originally from Upstate NY (going up for Christmas) and I don't miss the snow or the cold temps, or what the rock salt they spread on the roads does to the cars....eats em alive

We got high 30's now and rain and 50's for the next few days

I cleaned out the shop and am about to drop the mast on the kells so I can at least get the ass end of it in the bay so I can finish sanding the fiberglass work for the hatch hinges (I had to cut em out and rebuild em from scratch they were so damaged)

And my neighbor is supposed to come help me out with the cockpit floor trim piece

Good times

I didn't get the AMF16 :(

He sold it for $200....told him I would've given him $300 for it....his loss

No showroom....the boats don't stay here very long...I am almost done with the Kells23
If the weather hadn't been so crappy these last 2 weeks I would've been finished already
