Air in Fuel line between tank and heater.

Post by Declan »

On my 1999x I have a Wallas 22DT diesel heater. After 10 mins of use black smoke comes out above and it soon stops. The manufacturers told me that for sure it is air or some other blockage in the fuel line. They suggested I tighten up the connection further. They say air bubbles have been a problem with this heater and its usually caused by a loose connection between the fuel line and the heater.
I have now tightened it as much as I can and it still happens although i did notice an improvement. On their recomendation I cleaned and reconnected the filter where this line collects fuel in the tank.
THis fuel line is very narrow . Its transparent plastic although it is now so yellow I could not really see an air bubble. Its 1.5 meters long and the fuel tank is under the heater in the front of the boat. I am now afraid to tighten it any more in case I break it.
Is there a way to unblock a fuel line? Or some way to get air bubbles out of it?
