Greatings fellow Macnatics,
Not sure how I messed up my forestay, but I recently found a broken strand and have decided to replace it. I picked up a steal deal on 5/32 cable at a WM closeout but have no means of swaging a new turnbuckle stud to the cable. I see suncor advertises their quick attach fittings as providing AT LEAST 90% of cable break strength without swaging, however their focus seems to be on lifelines with no mention of rigging. In my ever diminishing ability reason (proportional to my bank account) I've concluded that 90% is very close to 100% and that the swageless fitting is the way to go. Anyone have experience using suncor fittings for standing rigging?
Thanks in advance, Chris

Westmarine will swage it. Just give them the exact length and fittings you need, and their rigging shop will do it.

WM also has a do it yourself bench, with all the tools you need, where you can swage it yourself....free!

Commonly used by us cheapskates is the Swage-It tool. Cost about $25. Compact so you can always have it on board.
