I have attended a motorcycle rally many times that is held in Huntsville AL at Ditto Landing on the TN River. Nice Marina with great park and campground. We could make this happen if there is enough interest.

I'm all tucked away for the winter this year but I'm only a couple hours from Nickajack lake if there is ever anything going on there. It's a lake I have wanted to go to because I drive over it all the time and it's very scenic being down in the valley. I've wondered how the winds are there since it is surrounded by mountains/hills.

The TN River is rich in history and has many scenic locales. As I envision this it should move around with a different rally location each year.

It should probably be held the same weekend each year (example: 1st weekend in Oct.) That way it would give those interested a target planning date.

Could be fun!

I won't be free to make it this year, but if it becomes a regular thing would try to schedule it in ahead of time on future trips. I think the TN river is a wonderful idea.

As for moving it to the Events section, even without a day it seems to make sense, just fill in the gaps as you go. It would only be MacGregor owners because that's what this board is all about. No reason someone else could join in (although they may need to work on keeping up on the motored parts of a trip).

The Tenn River area sounds good to us . It needs to be sometime in the spring . Holidays and winter are to soon to do anything this year .
Maybe sometime around the first of April ? :macx:

My curiosity is up. I'll have to google map it and see what that trip would be like.

It is way to late in the year for anything to happen this year. If we could come up with a time-frame for it, we could then get a few people from this forum who live in, or near, the area together to do some serious planning.

Guys, I am still in for a meet !! Tenn river area is exactly what I am looking for. 1 April is too funny for a time. But I agree spring or after is a good time since it gives us plenty of ime for planning and scheduling time away from work. Agree that it is too late for this year as we have all made our plans for the holidays already. I still do not have my X in the water yet as work has gotten in the way of play these last few weeks. I cannot WAIT till I retire in 3 years !! God willing. We here in Alabama are luckey that we havwe softer winters and can stretch out our season longer. I am told we are in for a rough winter this year by the locals. So Maybe April is a little too early? But I am game for anytime. I can have fun anytime. I can say that thee are many more options for overnight stays later in the summer when a few marinas around here get into full swing with live entertainment and such. I know of two marinas that shut down the entertainment and fun adult activities whenit gets cold. Even riverwalk marina in Decatur cuts it down to bands only on Fri/sat Instead of having a accustic band on the veranda every night Plus getting loud on Friday and Saturday.
On Sundays Wheeler lake state park resort has a kick ass buffet with a beautiful resort area right in the state park. They have catering for up to 200 people available with entertainment for the measley price of 25 dollars per plate. That would make a great location for a finale. Showers and booze !!! yea!
But if we were a small group we could still get cozy with a campfire !! I can play two songs on guitar..........

Sounds Good , sometime in the Spring . I agree with the idea of the same time each year , such as first weekend of (whatever Month) . I also agree with moving it around to different locales , each year .

Even tho its a 3day drive one way for us we would still be interested if its in April.
We were thinking of heading down to the spring Mead Madness but with the fall
one being cancelled due to water levels that puts the spring one into question.
So we were planning to head to the Tennessee river for some early sailing and to
check out The Great Loop or part of it. The lakes here will still be solid until May and
we don't usually get on the water until June. So we hope this comes off as it sounds
like fun.

Anyone within close proximity of the TN River in for joining me as a core group to organize this meet? I am in the Memphis area, Stan is in Decatur AL, (about 170 miles apart). I am about 100 miles from the AL state line.

We could hook up anywhere between Pickwick Dam and Huntsville AL to do some planning if we could agree on a time/place.
