Does anyone have a pic of and know the dimensions of the original rudder?
Mine, when in dock sticks above the water about an inch or so and I have a very hard time getting out of the dock. Someone docked near me told me that my rudder was not deep enough and that's why I'm having trouble maneuvering out of my dock. I have a 25inch shaft on my outboard and can not steer with the outboard.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean here. A picture might help. I find my rudder more than adequate for my v222.roadstarmedic wrote: Mine, when in dock sticks above the water about an inch or so and I have a very hard time getting out of the dock.

Nice looking rudder, BMXER. ROADSTAR, sounds like you have the rudder in the "up" position ( first 2 pictures from BMXER). It is very hard to steer when it's up like that. When I'm in shallow water and the rudder is up, I also use the motor to steer. The normal position for the rudder is seen in the last picture.

Thank you for your help!!!
My rudder is L shaped and it's bolted on that way so I do not have an option to put it straight down and it's about 18 inches wide and about 12 inches deep.
I tried to upload a pic but can't figure out how, if someone can help with that I'll post a pic of my rudder.

Sounds like its in the up position. There is one big pivot bolt. Try loosening it up.
And I wouldn't be using to in the up position, like the top two images. Easy way to break something with that much torque.
