I've always thought the world would wise up quickly if stupid hurt. At least stupid cost money in this case.

I think Skipper 1 thought he would clear under the bridge...he had the throttle down and and made no pretense of backing down.

Also, it almost looks like he cuts off boat #2 on the race to disaster

For the record. They were both trying to get back to the Yatch Club before 2 for 1 happy hour was over. 8) Luckily, it appears, No one was injured.

Some years back we were rounding Terminal Island in LA Harbor on our annual New Years day Commodore's Cruise. About halfway round is a drawbridge which, unbeknownst to us was not operating. Being in a trailerable boat club we all just lowered our masts and paddled under. Got some applause from some of the pedestrians on the bridge. Fair Winds and Full Sails...Old Salt.

P.S. For those of you who are interested, The battleship USS IOWA is now docked near the cruise ship terminal in Los Angeles as a museum. The are in the process of restoring her.

For those interested, The USS New Jersey is already up and running as a museum on the Delaware River at the Camden, NJ waterfront. I seemed to have been in the way in Matt's picture. :)

It's not always the boat captain that needs to slow down and take his time...

Keyrunch! Nobody injured.

This one near here put the road out of commission while the bridge was down for repair, and some businesses closed because of lack of accessibility by the customers.
