Conduit from Outboard to Galley and more

Post by martyr »

I uploaded my photos of my mostly complete conduit install to the mods forum. :)

The final install will use two different conduit paths
Shore Power (aft)---------Charger\Inverter(mid-ship)---------Battery Bank(mid-ship)
Outboard(aft)-------------Battery Bank(mid-ship)--------------Overhead switches(mid-ship)---------LOAD

I did add a part 2 with better photos and mood music
(no music... that was a lie)

Oh and the link to the compartment inside the compartment project

Pretty elaborate most of my wiring is just in double insulated wire taped and tucked up behind the panels except for the 240v ones which are in conduit and well sealed just in case we get water ingress.

Wow, talk about snaking wire through a tight space! :o How did you deal with this toxic situation?

Given the Australian Eastern Brown is venomous and very aggressive.......very carefully...once I worked out it was in there...about half way thru my rewire and replumb....the application of a given force firmly, no aggressively applied just behind its head over and over and over...well actually I severed its head with a lump of ply wood...a very long lump of plywood. The thought of sleeping in there and not having found it....does not bear thinking about. But I digress the wiring worked really well, replace all lighting with LEDs,wired in the 2 bilge pumps,7 solar panels, cockpit lighting, radio aerials, exhaust fan,2 extra house batteries,a larger water pump complete with pressure cutout, wiring into the cockpit for autopilot,GPS chart reader, and where I could I included extra circuits for possible future requirements.Still looking at a airpump (inflatable boat pump) for pressurising the ballast tank to reduce drain time, and on the to DO list the HD wiring for my drum anchor winch to be fitted in my anchor well....but that will require a anchor rest? bowsprit?kite/spinnaker pole thingy at the bow as not both the anchor and winch will fit. Also fitted bladder filling hosing and grey water suction hosing to fill points in the cockpit combing and outside/cockpit shower facilities.....so my hands would have been in all sorts of very confined spaces whilst this snake was still in there!!!!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm a bit OCD and love sitting an thinking about shapes etc.
So building the compartment inside the compartment and the conduit stuff, was right up my alley.

Very therapeutic
