Tip of the day ...Post yours
Getting the boat ready to put it in this weekend and I noticed the ballast drain gate valve was pretty stiff to operate...I put a little white lithium grease on the rod and the gate and the seal...works better then new!

Hook up steering linkage before you decide to leave the ramp. Makes things easier

Had a buddy who forgot to attach his float and line to a brand new crab pot before he set it.
I have a funny feeling this is going to get hilarious...

Take a couple of pool noodles from Walmart and slice them up the middle like your gutting a fish and put them on your spreaders before you roll the mast back and the spreaders won't scratch the top of the cabin

Before launching, remove the bolts or pins that hold the rudders in travel position.

Sail with your mainsheet in hand or draped over the throttle so you can keep your heel right at 15 degrees. Best way to maintain maximum speed.

An admiral helmsman is cheaper than an autopilot. Well, not cheaper, but already priced in.

Mobile home axles are a almost perfect fit for the old steel Mac trailers and you can usually get axle rims and good tires for around $100

Always have the radio on to the CG channel when on the water.

But removing it is cost-prohibitive, and usually you end up getting rid of both together.mastreb wrote:An admiral helmsman is cheaper than an autopilot. Well, not cheaper, but already priced in.

Stick a couple of velcro tabs (hook side) onto the console and stick your main sheet to it. Then it is always right at your finger tips when you need it.

Go sailing
instead of Knots Berry Farm on middle school graduation day
And they give you NO clue until the 50 busses of urchins show up.
If you're wondering.... it was yesterday......... could happen again though
Just go sailing all of June
Best Breezes,
Steve K.

Use evinrude marine grease for the gate valve instead. I have been told it is more resistant to being washed away.
