Spinnaker swing

Post by Carrierjason »

Is a Mac 26 M to small for a spinnaker swing?

It seems like it is, but thought I would ask see if anyone has done it.

Never done it but I would say yes it is.
Rig is to flimsy, the boat is not heavy enough and there is no backstay either.

I also handle my spinnaker sheets without winches so I doubt it would produce enough lift to get anyone out of the water, except in a gale :).

The tipping moment for the power sailors is under 100kg at the top of the mast, so I think swing from the spin would be too close to this...
