Any MacGregor/Venture owners in the Tacoma Area?

Post by bmxer »

New Venture 22 owner and I was wondering if there were any boats in the Tacoma area ... Commencement Bay? Gig Harbor maybe?

There is a group called the Windseekers that I used to sail with when I had my Cat 27. Racing Wednesday nights in the Spring and Summer and Saturday mornings in the Fall and Winter.

Would be nice to get something going if I'm not alone in the area ...

We just bought a 2008 M and we have it in a slip in Gig Harbor. We would be interested. We're new to sailing and haven't had many opportunities (wind) to practice sail handling, but with the Mac, we still just put around the Sound and enjoy the water.

There are probably 10 gazillion Venture/Macs in the SeaTac area. I would suggest contacting Blue Water Yachts in Seattle. They are Mac specialists and might have some good ideas on how to contact similar owners. I correspond with a V=25 owner up that way all the time. Fair Winds and Full Sails....Old Salt...

I have a 26X, trailered out of Covington. Keeping it on the trailer gets me to the lakes and all over the sound. I just bought it in January and after one season (about a dozen outings a including several long weekends) I am probably new enough to remember all my mistakes and things I didn't know, yet smart enough to have made it to the other side!

Let me know if you guys put something together.
