washing the gap in an X

Post by capt grumpypants »

Dear list members,

I am curious...how do those of you with an :macx: wash/wax/paint inside the centerboard sleeve and the center board?

Thanks.

for painting I removed the centerboard and used a small roller with an extension to paint inside.

1) Get a really big container
2) Fill container with paint
3) Lift boat
4) Dip boat in paint
5) Lift boat and let dry
6) Repeat as needed for multiple coats

See, it's easy! ;)

(Yeah, the mini-roller on a stick is one way. You can also drill out the center of those wooden "foam brush" handles and insert a tight-fitting dowel... works like a charm and it's incredibly cheap... like me.)

I wash and wax and just stick my hand up in the well.
