Any Of The older 26 Models Have..........

Post by GaryMayo »

.........Swing keel, water ballast, and the head by the cabin doorway (like the X)?

I find I like most everything about my Macgregor except that 650 pound keel that I always wonder when it will fall off.

I want water ballast, and the head by the cabin door. Do I need an X to get these features?

You can have a head by the cabin door in any boat - - - just put a coffee can there :!:

You can have a head by the cabin door...put the porta-potty in the cockpit!

If using Rick's coffee can idea, be sure to label one can COFFEE, and the other can NOT COFFEE :!: :D

Gary,
Along with being extremely helpful, intelligent, and experienced, we tend to also be quite the smartie-britches around here...

From the factory, the only boat with a head by the door is the X - it is the "oddball" design with the head and galley swapped - all the other floorplans are similar to your 25. The D and S boats are nearly the same as yours, the M is also back to that same basic floorplan, with the X being the departure in-between. That said, Sumner did a major mod in removing the head and adding the potty under the bench seat, as he showed above, but it is definitely a mod, not a factory design.

Gary? Kind?? Unkind? Dude .. your all over the table..what I said has been stated or alluded to , by others as well..
I thought ( from reading your posts) that you made your decision? Your decision was to buy a 26' Power Sailor... The next thing you post , after having said you were going ( made a commitment? $$$ ) to buy an Macgregor X.. is you ended up buying a ski boat (of sorts??) I and others, are just confused??

Thank You. Good to know there are still polite people in the world today. I do like what you have done with your head. I imagine that area also has more "head" room.

PS I have never been a politically correct person - - - I know what the politically correct answers are, but I don't usually care enough to make the effort. Personally, when someone asks me a really stupid question, they should expect a stupid answer :!: I have to amuse myself somehow :!: I think making nice nice is pretty much for dumb dumbs - - - but that's just me :!: :P :) 8)
