BobLee, nicely written expose! I thought I also covered things well with the north/south - wet/dry thing, and in my earlier post concerning a comparison of trying to cover even New York state (or even Ontario, for that matter) in that space of time.
The point I was mainly trying to get across, and it really was covered very well by you diggers, was that one persons cuppa is not for everyone. If it were me I'd go bush again in a heartbeat - but this is a honeymoon, and certain other relaxed activities (ahem) need to take precedence over too much roughing it. In the end, with such a great picture being painted by you mob, I think they'll figure things out. These Yanks are a pretty resilient lot - believe it or not!
As for me coming back for a bone up, that will probably happen year after next. I have a daughter teaching in Bangkok, now over two years, and she will skin me alive if we don't make the effort. Perhaps we can arrange a cruise or two, and a couple of free shouts when that happens. After all, it's only money (lots of it these days!)

My thoughts are different. I do envy them.

I am glad they ( son & fiance ) are adventurus enough, and able to take such a long trip for a honeymoon, and try to see such a large country. They will see what they can and have wonderful memories for a lifetime. You are only young once
