Post by trdprotruck »

This isn't my ad, but came across it and thought someone might score a good deal on a 26X.

What state is that?

Answered my own question. http://www.danawestmarina.com/index.htm

You can rent a slip for $372.90 a month that includes gated security, parking, electricity, water, shopping, restaurants, everything a person needs. Two hours sail to Catalina Island.

Tempting to buy it and drive out there to live!

Sunshine 330 days out of the year.

Slips in SoCal generally transfer with a boat when sold. This varies by Marina policy, but I don't know of any marinas that don't do it. Here in San Diego people will often by an old sea dog in a slip just for the slip, and then Craigslist the boat just to have it hauled away.

The rent does not sound bad for slip fee, but does it allow you to live on your boat?

Probably not! In Southern California most Marinas allow you a "couple" of nights a week on your boat and "Liveaboards" have different deals.

I used to stay on my Mac 4 nights a week in Marina Del Rey after playing poker and that was really pushing it. The Marina manager talked to me about it once, and it was probably only because I was quiet as a church mouse that he left me alone (well, there might have been some sexual screaming  ).

Hand lotion will prevent roughness, thus reduce the screaming :D .

I was going to suggest turning the volume down,,

330 days of sunshine sounds great until you have to share it 40 million other people...
