I always do a mouse-click Copy of what I just typed before I hit Submit, just for that reason...go right back in and Paste without retyping...

Go to your User Control Panel, then click on manage drafts. I'm willing to bet that you clicked on "Save", rather than "Submit".

Re: Dag-nab-it!
No such luck, but thanks, Hamin! Dag-nab-it, here goes again. I hope this one doesnt dissappear into the ether, as I am a two finger typer...Our lake has dried up, and I sold My Catalina 27. My Santana 22 (1968) is sitting on it's trailer, probably for good.
I was very depressed about this, as I am now retired and usually sailed 2-3 days a week. Now , the closest water is 150 miles, and has no marina for boat storage. A couple weeks ago, for no particular reason, I clicked on Sailboats on CL. There was a listing for a Mac 222(which I had never heard of, no idea) and it was 3 blocks from Me! I was about to go out of town, and in a hurry, but I rushed over and gave the boat a very quick 5 minute survey, exteior only. 1985 model, hull #485. Sitting on a galvanized trailer, with almost new tires. The 7.5 Honda had been stolen. The boat was dirty and had been neglected for a couple years. I offerd the seller $1200 and he quickly accepted.
I towed the boat home and then left for a scheduled short vacation.
I could not wait to get home and examine My new boat. I gambled that the sail were good, no major problems, taking the sellers word that there were no big issues.
I removed the mast and boom, and inspected them. They appear almost as-new! I stowed them. I put on gloves and a respirator and ventured inside. Dozens of Mud-dauber nests were all over the interior, and to My dismay, I saw evidence of rodents....I filled two 55 gallon trash cans with moldy towels, empty water bottles, moldy masses of who-know-what. Old kapok pfds and underwear, nail polish and empty wine bottles.
I finally got down to the cushions, and the sole. I pulled the hunter ?Green cushions out and looked them over. Not a single rip, or tear! No fading! I scrubbed them down with warm water and mild detergent, and they now look new. The 2 burner alcohol stove appears as new. Depth finder and knot meter look as new. The automotive battery was history , a ndI threw,er, properly disposed of it at an approved battery disposal site....The sail, a jenny, a jib, and a main, were in very good shape, and are the original sails. The canvas pop-top cover is the only issue. Rodents, or something, had chewed some small holes in it, but not too bad.
Overall, I am thrilled with the boat. I plan to re-bed all deck fittings, with alum doublers below deck, and I will need to find a good 4 stroke outboard.I have moved the boat indoors, where it will undergo an extensive re-fit over the winter, and then next summer, to Lake powell, otr Lake Texoma.

Wow, I ran out of room...Anyway, I had never even heard of a Mac 222, now I am in love with one! And, I know that I WILL sail again! The funny part of this story.....before I retired, I was a helicopter mechanic.....Working on the v-22 Osprey , for Bell Helicopter-I graduated from a V-22, to a V-222!

Welcome aboard
Sounds like you found a diamond in the rough....quite literally.\
Many of us may have been out trying to get one last sail in (us Canuks) or just working.
It would help if you had a little more info such as where you hail from so people could relate a little better from your local area
I fell in love with my 26X when a client took me out on his and I realized the wonderful hybrid nature of this boat.
Good luck on the restoration...good thing you're retired

Welcome Ishmael!! I hope you get the project done in time to enjoy the lakes next summer. I am sure you'll find the hull is well built. Now you get to read all the mod posts. The knowledge base on this site is extensive so post any questions you have here before you get frustrated.

Re: Dag-nab-it!
The v22.2 is one of the funnest boats I've ever owned. My boat is nearly forty years and has no major issues. It's been painted is all. It sails in hardly any water and the heavy keel shrugs of groudings. Small enough to treat like a big dinghy.
Sounds like you got a great deal.
I'm new here myself, but the board is very friendly and a huge knowledge base.
