Work has been busting my butt lately. It's 90 degrees outside and the boat's still in the driveway :-(. But I've been making progress. Here's some pictures...

Carved foam to support and shape the fiberglass:

Closeup of the seam between the flange that is glassed to the boat and the foam. This gives me an overlapped area to attach the fiberglass outer shell.

Glassed over, and filled, with some fairing. More sanding, filling, sanding, filling, sanding...to do. Then primer and two or three coats of white, two-part urethane paint. (It's actually a lot smoother than it looks in the pic):

That's about it for now. More soon. BTW - I need encouragement :?

I know enough that I should stay away from fiberglass and resin projects.

Bob...you've REALLY accomplished a serious detailed clever modification for a Mac-M. You're evidently an expert in design mods. Good Job ! Salute !

Looking good Bob... Your mod is not going to be compatible with a number of the ones that I have made on my boat, so I'll just have to settle with being a bit envious of you... 8) :x

Keep up the good work and the updates!

A very professional job, Bob, as we have come to expect from you! I like the seat track mechanism.

And with the blue hull, you’ll be popping wheelies with that "Mac dragster" first thing in the spring!

Looks very good. Ever see a 1963 T-Bird? It was just crampt enough inside when it was in park and the door opened, the steering wheel moved up and to the right. Made getting in and out much easier.

That may be my approach to a helm on my Mac 25. ( or my cm30 as I just purchased my slip boat for next season)
