Texas M26 Owners, I'll buy you lunch!
I am looking to buy a sailboat and am intrigued by the MacGregor 26M. There doesn't appear to be a local dealer, so is there anyone in the Dallas, Texas area who would be willing to show me their Mac?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Can't help you directly, but one person to consider if buying is John at Super Sport Marine in Kearney, Nebraska.
I bought my X from him (used) and know of two others who've purchased Macs from him. Standard Disclaimer: Only association is I'm a customer.

To: NewtoMacinTX,
I'm trying to be very careful about what I say here. I tried replying once before to your thread but my original post is not here. Then I tried sending you a PM but it's not in my sent messages. So I don't know if you got the PM or not. I have a possible solution to your question but don't know how to contact you other than through a PM or trying to post on this thread. If you don't get my PM and you're still interested in what I have to say then perhaps you could try sending me a PM with contact info and lets see if I get it.
Kind Regards,
JonBill

JonBill, if the PM is not in your Sent messages box, it is in your Outbox. If it is in the Outbox, it means that the recipient has not yet opened it. PM's remain in the Outbox of the sender, unless read, then move to the Sent messages box.

I also can't figure out how to use Facebook and gave up on that. Didn't really even want to do it in the first place (like what a waste of time). But Facebook kept sending me these emails telling me all these people I hardly knew wanted to be my friend. I knew that wasn't true since I don't think some of them even liked me, but gave in and brefly tried Facebook anyway. I should be thanking this Mac site for not bombarding me with emails promising friendship, and be thankful that they just admonish me publicly everytime I screw up. Thanks Hamin X! Sure enough its in the outbox or whatever you called it.
I probably haphazzzardly sent my original post to this thread off to the great cyberspace neverneverland since I typed it up and attempted to post it late last night after drinking a least two glasses of wine. I didn't think anything I said in it could have possilby affended anyone. Not even a M0d358t05.
Kindest Regards,

Have had that problem with posts disappearing somewhere but found it was usually that I had moved off before our slow connection had finished sending it or didn't hit the submit button before going back to the thread.

There are a couple guys that sail on the big lakes in Dallas...can't recall his name, but you might try an advanced search to see if you can locate anyone...

Sailingtexas.com use to list lots of MacGregors for sale... although they are not always local to Texas

When I was in the market for a sailboat I settled on the X, since that was what we could afford. But when the admiral stepped onto a new M at the boat show we had to move our savings into overdrive. Luckily we stumbled into an M that was foreclosed on and we bought it from the "bank" for about 1/2 the price of a new one.

Trying this again - are there any owners in the DFW area willing to show me their M26?
