Does the deck have a core, or the hull?

I have a 1969 Venture V2-22.
I'm planning to install some through-deck connectors, and I was wondering if anyone knew whether the deck or hull was built with a core.

Don't know about the core of the deck (I suspect that it is balsa), but thought this might be interesting:

There are parts of my 73 22.2 deck that are cored with ply. The fordeck, cockpit seats nd part of the cabin top.
