I'm the DUH when it comes to this kind of stuff - - not my cup of tea - - - I am not a home (or boat) do-it-yourself project guy!

Wanna sell it ?
$10 via paypal ?

Here is the official response from MacGregor.
We only offer mast caps for the current extrusion. If your boat was a 2007 model built in late 2006 (Hull number ending607) no mast cap is available. I am sorry I cannot be more helpful on this.
Boat only 4 years old and they don't sell spares for it ... :x

Fireant, if you were, state side, and the weather was a bit nicer, outside.... I'd just go out and cut and bend ( I have some nice Aluminum Diamond Plate)you one and send it, to you. But I have no idea how to send a bubble envelope to the land of OZ.
Hi Rick : ) I sometimes do forget , that every guys 3 car garage isn't, so full of tools and stuff that he cannot get a car in it.. Though I have on occasion,( rare occasion) considered buying a condo and just leaving it all behind..Just sell this house and walk away from it all.. Wouldn't the new owner be surprised when he opened the door :D Thinking he as just going to pull the car in ...

Yer its sometimes a bit of a pain sending stuff overseas but thanks for the kind offer.
I really want fibreglass though.
Unprotected - Un-anodised aluminium tends to look like a snowman armpit after a few years.

What to do ... what to do ......
I guess the cutting board is probably an easy option for me.
Or maybe I should just cut some aluminium and paint the dang thing.
Pain in the butt.

Trace the outline ( mast), use a piece of cutting board. You now have basic shape ... cut / sand /fine / as needed ...Now cut block to fit inside mast.. Router table? No? OK... take a sharp point "sharpie" using your finger to guide and mark just inside the perimeter on the bottom face.. then again draw a line around the circumference... cut around the circumference with a hacksaw or a copping saw.... copping saw would b nice .. cut all the way around just enough to bury the 3/16 in. wide blade on the coping saw.....now use a dremel to remove excess material. It doesnt have to be perfect.. the imperfections wont show they are inside the mast. there are 2 set screw for that old plastic cap as I recall ....screw 2 short SS screws through mast and into your new cap... done deal ...an hour at the most..
