Is this custom made? Who has ever seen it?

Post by 2BonC »

Recently when I visited the French part of Lake Leman I have seen the following part, mounted at a :macx: in the port of Evian. :o

I have a cover for my steering rods allready and like this very miuch and I´m not going to change 8)

However probably I had saved the work to build it if I had knewn about this stock item.
Because it´s made of GFC and fits so accurate the :macx: I believe that it is a custom-made item. Does anyone has seen it before? Who is building this part, probably a French company.
If nobody reading the pages knows about and it is of interest to other :macm: or :macx: owners I can honestly investigate on this next time when I´m visiting this area again, probably around Christmast.

There is one fellow on the Odin820 Site, from Finland.... and Last Year He purchased a New Boat.
While the boat was in storage for the winter... He had custom made a Teak Rear Platform. :)
Really Nice, and it's Truly Just like the Boardwalk @ Atlantic City New Jersey

Please Let Me know, if You wish to get a lead on the contractor that did it :?: Can Send Him a Email

On Edit:
I found another, Concept from the manufaturer Odin 820 Nova , in Germany
Very Nice Platform, with all the mechanics underneath... Hydraulic steering as an Option :o

I was going to get some card board and cut it to fit the area with the motor up. I have not made up my mind on all the options that I might come up with. The more Ideas the better.

The fiberglass transom platform you showed in your photos is remarkably similar to one which was available from a dealer (http://www.balux.se/) in Sweden. There was a discussion about it quite some time ago (see link below), and I actually considered getting one - until I heard the price, as shipped to the USA... it was over $800.00... didn't seem worth quite all that much.

Here's the original posting about it:

And a couple of photos:
