Lower Columbia July 2005, the wind was up a bit so both sails were reefed.
Weather moved in after we docked at Rainier.
Typical meal aboard the SS Otter. Blind Is. Bay, Shaw Is. 2007

I had a meal like that once, except not with the dishes or the food in them - - - just the wine

Some decidedly calm and easy passages for a change, aboard Arianne in Portugal...
Big locks here, and some of the whirlpool gorges coming out were scary enough in a 7kt current, that and the odd power line of a boat frazzling 40,000v that hangs so low you have to almost run aground on the shore to duck under it.. again, in a good current!

Mr a little apprehensive about the force 8-9 weather forecast...
And steaming along at 8kts+
Even in the harbours you need to keep an eye out for squalls
